CREATIVE PORTRAITS IN OIL

Paint a colourful portrait of your choice and discover a variety of oil painting techniques. You will learn how to draw a face using accurate proportions and then produce a pencil layout in line and tone. You will create an underpainting which will be your base for other layers of colour tints and shades. These workshops are suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience.
If you have them, bring your own brushes, oil paints and an A3 canvas, or use materials provided. You will be required to provide your own photographic reference.
£65 for 6 workshops (plus £7 for materials, payable to tutor).

About your tutor:
Heather Ford was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Graphic Design at the London College of Printing in 1977. She worked in the commercial field, as a graphic designer, in London for 15 years. She attained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the Institute of Education, London University, in 1994 and she taught art and design in England for 24 years. Heather moved to Muscat, Oman in 2010 where she was Head of Primary Art at The Sultan's School, for eight years. She became an active member of the Omani art scene where she was continually inspired by it's rich culture. She exhibited in a variety of major art exhibitions in Muscat. She retired from teaching in August 2018 and returned to the UK. Originally from Somerset Heather now lives in Stoke-Sub-Hamdon where she is a full time practicing artist, specializing in portraiture.
